Another small uppdate-- heh, no I'd don't plan on making this a habit. The new site design is almost finished, I've got all the bugs out but there's still alot of gallery pages that need to be transfered over. @_@ I don't think I really realized what a big project this was going to be!! =O I promise that when the butterfly emerges from it's long sleep in the coccoon that it'll beautiful! ^_~

The main purpose of this update to post a few peices of new art, and let you all know that I have an entry in this month's MAG-DX. I haven't had mush time to participate in the DX for a while, but I couldn't let my buddy's MaZ's characters get featured and not draw them!! There are several good entries so I'm sure voting will be difficult, I know I'm having problems choosing! If you want to see my newest CG-color art and maybe cast a vote for the worthiest entry, you can do so here!

In unrealted news, I'm currently involved in a very large joint project with about two dozen other artists from Norrath's Studio. I'd never been into pixel art before venturing to this great community, but now I think I'm hooked. I and my fellow artists are slaving over a secert project, called the EQ Pixel Army. Now this may only be of interest to EverQuest players, but believe me when I saw EQ players will be very excited about this. What are we working on your ask? Only the largest drap-and-drop doll maker ever created, with every EQ race, armor look, and accessory that you can think of!! What's a drag-n-drop dollmaker, some of you are asking. Well, suffice it to say that this will allow you to make a 200 pixel tall mini avatar that looks almost just like your EverQuest character! Hussle on over to the Norrath's Studio Pixel Art forum and browse around, you'll see several of the army officers with sample dolls in thier forum signatures. It's gonna big folks! ^_~

Small update here.

No, I'm not dead. And neither is this site. We're just… in hibernation. The good news is that I'm well on my way to my goal of having the new site up by New Year's. Bad news is that I just got laid off from work last Friday, which pretty much sucks rocks, but on the upside I have more time to work on other stuff. *sighs*

I've added a bunch of new things to the store, like calendars, posters, stickers and other stuff. I've also slashed prices on everything in there, just in time for the Holidays!! There's no more than a .50 cent markup on any of those products, so they don't make me much money, but maybe they'll be easier for you to buy. So go look at what I've got there, and e-mail me if you want something specific!!

In other news, I've closed the message board. Or well, I've made it read-only for now. It was getting almost no traffic and I had no time to moderate it, much less post myself. It won't be included in the new design, although there will be some way to leave feedback other than e-mail.

I also replaced the counter. I was dubious about Fast Counter's accuracy so I split the difference between it and my tracker's numbers. So no you're not crazy, 20,000 hits didn't just disappear over night. Or then again... I guess they did. ^_~

I'm posting a few pieces of art to the message board again so you aren't left with nothing at all in this update. I'm almost not looking forward to the HUGE update I'm gonna have to do when I finally finish the redesign. O__O

I finally moved, oh my gosh!! Make sure your links and bookmarks use the new address, because the old "home.att.net/~dragoness" addie will be going away soon! Now, unfortunately I haven't included any new artwork in this site update. I know, I know, don't yell at me, I'm sorry! The reason is that I am yet again redesigning the site. The core is complete but there's still a lot of work to do as I merge all the old content with the new design. At any rate, the new design is much spiffier than this one, I'm quite happy with it so far. Honestly I can't wait to get it live and take down this old version. *grin* But since I don't know when exactly I'll get it finished and you've all been waiting so patiently for new artwork... I've posted some of it on the message board as a temporary solution so you all can take a peek! Look below for links to the posts themselves, or browse the whole board using the link above. Oh, and my e-mail address has changed as well. From now on you can reach me at this address.

There's a new poll for people to respond to, thanks to everyone who's responded to previous polls! It's quite helpful while I make decisions on what to keep, what to rework, and what to get rid of as I do the redesign.

In other news, after two years of service, I've retired as the maintainer of MOB (Monthly Original Bishoujo). I thoroughly enjoyed my time there even despite the frustrating moments, but my life is at a turning point right now and the path ahead of me has far less spare time as the months and years now behind me. So rather than neglect the site I passed it on to some very fabulous people who are going to take wonderful care of it! I've also finally fallen prey to the supreme evilness of the fantasy video game universe...EverQuest. After fours years of slowly watching each of my friends fall into it's clutches, I finally followed suit, (partly cuz I was tired of being bored while they played EQ, and partly because I couldn't resist the gorgeous-ness of Luclin. Kitty People! Squee!!!). So, if you play on the Zebuxoruk server look for a Vah Shir Shaman named Silaar Ghostdancer. I also have alts that I play occasionaly... Keirasa a half-elven bard, and Rilrae a dark elf warrior. I've also got a high elf cleric named Irisael on Tunare, but I only play her occasionally. If you see me online, send me a /tell!

The last little bit of news for those who haven't heard, is that I'm engaged! Yes, FINALLY, as those who know me would say. My fiancée and I will be married on August 9th 2003, ironically the year that we would be celebrating our 10 year anniversary as a couple. August seems like a long time away but there so much to do!! It makes my head spin!! @_@

In the future I will do my best to keep this place alive. I still love it and the art I do, there's just little time to do it in. I'm afraid promising regular updates isn't fair to any of you, but I will certainly try to keep it from getting as long in waiting as this update has been!! Gomen nasi for that, at least through the message board you know I'm not dead. ;P The site redesign is also why I have not yet begun another commission auction. When I am finished with the redesign and am confident that I have enough free time to dedicate to another commission, then I will post another auction. Estimating with full-time work, the site redesign, and other engagements, It won't be before October.

All right, you asked for it, so you got it, an UPDATE! Several pieces of new artwork, many that were sitting around waiting to be finished. My eBay commission was completed some time ago, which was quite a success by the way, and is up for all to view. Also, there's a new poll for you all to anwser. I'm working on a redesign, hopefully to show of my web design skills better, and I need some feedback from all of you. So go anwser the poll! Thanks!

Well, the Lair has passed the 50,000 hit mark. Thank you all for you continued support and vigilance. It's because this site brings positive things into other people's site that I keep it going. Congratulations to Gally for being the 50,000 visitor!

I am working now so there's little time or other things, but I am managing in the spaces between. (err, and before anyone does an back pounding in congratulations, it's not the job I really want, but rent must be paid.) I know updates have been sparse, and for that I do apologize. I don't have any plans to abandon this site in the near future, even though it has taken me to task recently, and become an unfortunate source of stress for me. But I don't want to be like so many other artists on the net who have set aside their websites, so I will do my best to keep this one alive. I just ask that you all be patient and understanding, I don't want this site and the beautiful things that have surrounded it so far become an ugly and negative thing in my life. I want to send out a wholehearted "Thank you" to all those out there that have sent me e-mails, gift art, or just posted to the message board with your thoughts, caring actions, and supporting words. I can't say how much it means to me.

I'm not sure when I will do my next commission auction, as time is limited with a full time job. But I do want to do one, as so many people have expressed an interest and I don't want to let them down, but I want to make sure there are no other projects hanging over my head when I do. Thank you all for being patient.

I'm still trying to sell items with my artwork on it through my Cafepress store but haven't had much luck. It's not likely that I'll create anymore new designs for the store unless more interest is shown. I hate to say that but since my time is so limited I want to put it to its best use. I know there are people who *like* the designs, but unfortunately that isn't enough. The store was made to sell things, and Cafepress will close the store if not enough items are sold.

More new news for you all.

Most up and coming is my first commission auction via eBay. The Art for Sale page has more info, or you can go straight to the auction if you wish. I'm kind of in a financial bind right now. Work is hard to find and it's getting *really* difficult to pay the bills. So if even you have no particular interest in the auction, pass the info on to a gamer or anime fan that might be interested! I need all the help I can get. Thanks! ^_~

I've made more progress with the T-shirts designs, the Rilrae one is looking really sweet, but it looks like Cafepress is still ironing out the kinks in their new upgrade. The Quilvess designs are going to take me a little longer, I can't find the high res file of the original, so I have to reconstruct it from the version before that. I'll be sure to post here when I get the next of the designs up.

Finally got around to updating the external links in the gallery pages. At least, all the ones I could. If you have a link in there that's not right, or don't have one at all and want one added, then e-mail me with the URL and make sure you tell me which pic it goes with... there are so many now it's hard not to lose track.

The Links section needs to undergo a serious overhaul, so I won't be updating it for awhile. I might even wait til I do the site redesign. So if you want to do a banner exchange or the like, wait til after I setup the new page. Likely I'll just put your request somewhere "safe" and then never see it again. =P

An update! Finally!!! So sorry to everyone for taking so long, there was a *ton* of stuff to do! There's several changes around the site as you may notice, just read on for more information. There's also a total of 40 new images!! So I hope it was worth the wait!! ^_~

Well now, I did it!!! I successfully graduated this past semester and boy am I happy!! I'm freeee, I'm freeee!!! So now I'm running around like a fool trying to get a job in a job market that is really just awful right now. =P But enough of that! In the meantime I can draaaaaw! Whooo-hoo!

First things first. As you can see, I have my new domain setup. The old URL still works but after I get the server running and cancel my Worldnet account I don't know for how long they'll keep any redirection page I put up. So change your links and bookmarks now! I'm still working on the server, all the hardware is installed but we're still working out some OS problems. *sigh* Hopefully that will be ready real soon, since I'm running out of space!! Eeek!

I also have my Cafe Press store up and running, so go, check it out, and buy some stuff!!! Feeeed the poooor starving artist person!!! ^.^ In addition to that, I'm also going to take some commissions this summer. And, in case you hadn't noticed, my newest passion is the anime Trigun!!!! I luuuuv Trigun. Been drawn' Vash like crazy, and making music videos too. The series is so awesome, I really wanna read the manga. So, if anyone really feels like dropping some sweet Trigun sutff in my lap (like say, that kick-ass resin modle of Vash's gun!! =O), I'd do artwork for you in trade in a heartbeat!! ::nudge, nudge, wink, wink:: Heheheheeee... =3 I know, I'm bad... ^_~

Well, I attended project Akon this year and boy did I have an absolute blast! Got to meet lots of cool people there, and had fun spending all my graduation money!! I picked up several art commissions and did some cool art exchanges with my friends. The Guest gallery is packed to almost bulging by now, but that's the way I like it!!! =D And there's more artwork by me than I expected, there wasn't much time during the semester at all to do any of my own work, but somehow I managed to do a little bit of it. And I've also been drawing like crazy since classes finished, it's been so long since I was able to draw whatever I want! So enjoy everyone! And here's hoping I can get back to regular updates! ^_~

Alright, for those of you don't know, my computer and I have not been friends now for almost two months. It started right after Christmas when I added a new harddrive, CD-RW drive, and a new video card. Since then it's just been a string of problems, some of them really bad, only a few of them interrelated. My internet connection has been sporadic for one reason or another, and it's been difficult to get anything done. I spent most of my winter vacation trying to get it fixed, and it's still not 100%. I still have no internet connection, so I've been checking my email from an internet cafe and at school, but that doesn't leave me much time to reply to any of it. So if you've emailed me expecting a response and haven't gotten one, then that's the reason. I managed to do this update along with the MOB update via a friend's computer. Arigato gozaimasu to James and Cindy for allowing me the use of their phone line and computer!!!

Well, there was alot of artwork that I wanted to get finished during the winter break, but instead I spent the whole time trying to fix my stoopid computer. I had finished 90% of this update done before Christmas, and was just waiting to finish the coloring work so it could go up with it all. *sigh* Of course that never happened. But I've managed to accumulate enough in the way of B&W and marker art to make the update worth it. I'm sorry that I couldn't delivery the oodles of artwork I promised 3 months ago, but given how I hate to leave this site unupdated, a little is better than nothing. I put up that CG'ed Quilvess pic in the original section that I did last fall. I decided that it was just gonna end up lurking for months on the progress page otherwise. There is one new CG in the Gift section, but ugh, one in four months is just pathetic. -_-;;;;;;

This semester is my very last semester in college, I'll be graduating with a Bachelor's in Illustration/animation in May. This is going to me the hardest semester ever tho, and I can't screw it up because it's the last semester they'll allow me on financial aid. But at least the goal is in sight, I'm oh so tired of being in school. But there's still alot of work ahead of me (including a 20 second animated film that's going to take tons of work) so if I neglect this site over the next few months it's not because I want to, it's because I've told myself I have to. I love this sit and everyone who comes here, but I really need to get the ball rolling on the necessities of life.

No word on the new domain as of yet, with all the problems I obviously haven't had the resources to deal with it yet. I do have a Cafe Press store in the works where you can my art on T-shirts and the like. I'm still need to finish the last two designs; one of Rilrae and one of Quilvess, but if you want to look around you can find it here. Anyhoo, changes thought out the site, some big and some small. What crazy days these are. I'm in school again now in my last year of college. Things are *really* heating up and it's hard to find time for anything else. But I have been drawing here and there, and finally got some time to do an update this weekend. Life itself has been hectic, for some reason I think someone out there has it in for me. I have had the crappiest luck of late when it comes to finanical matters. I can't stop thinking how broke I am, and then something else comes along to complicate matter even more. =\ Don't know how I'm surviving, but I'm doing it somehow. Well, looks like I'm doin' pretty well when it comes to updating monthly, I even got it done a few days early this time! Heh, no, that really doesn't have anything to with hitting the 10K mark, that's just an awesome coincidence! We'll have to see how well I do next month, after classes have started. Bleh, I wish I could just be a bum and sit around and draw all day. ;D In the news this month, I've entered another monthly! This is a monthly I recently discovered, called Monthly Artist Showcase, and it works a lot like MAG, only not as focused on the anime style. It features all original characters, but you can win more than once! Wow! That means competition every month could be fierce, but that's also great for the people who are having their characters featured!! You should go on over and vote!!

Happy birthday to me!! I am now 25 years old as of July 10th, and it feels kinda weird. I felt kinda old at 24, but 25 seems sooo much older than that. I guess it's cuz that means that 30 is lingering just around the corner! O.o eek.... Well anyway, I'm finally feeling some ease from what's been stressing me lately, my boyfriend and I finally found an apartment to move into, which took us over a month to do. =\ And it took anoth 3 weeks to mov einto it, arg!!! But that's done now and I can do more drawing whoo!!!!. The good news for the site is that I finished part of the tutorial section. Not all of it, but I did half of what I was originally planning on doing, and adding in a last minute fur tutorial as a bonus. I'm also adding a page with character bios for some of the characters I've created. People seemed curious enough, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's really simple right now, and may change in design and layout as I make up my mind what I want to do with it. But for now, basic bios for Rilrae, Quilvess, Kurai, Kyriss, and Aelynn are up for your persusal!

In other news, the new monthly art site that Bolt and I created has had a birthday too! Monthly Original Bishoujo is now a whole month old!! (Well, plus two weeks since I didn't get this update done when I wanted =P) ~And~ it's featuring one of my new characters this month, an ultra kawaii catgirl! Submissions were pretty good last month, for a first month. The deadline for submissions of my character Shoko for this month are due on August 10th! That's only two weeks away!! There haven't been many submissions yet, so get crackin'!!!

Wow. Phew, finally done! This revamp took me quite some time to finish, but I am very happy with the results. It just kept getting more and more complicated as I worked on it, but that just meant it got better and better! I haven't changed the site structure too much, but I've made several improvements that should make the site more pleasurable for all to view! Lots of new artwork too, I've been quite the busy bee of late, and have been quite inspired to draw. My guestbook seems to have died a horrible painful death, so I took this opportunity to replace it with a message board! I've really got no clue how often people will use it, but it's an experiment, if it doesn't fly well, the I'll just replace it with another traditional guestbook. =P But I thought it'd be a good idea since often there are times when I want to ask *you* guys questions. That and I seem to be awful at awnsering most of my email. Maybe if it's public I'll feel more obligated. Guilt is a wonderful motivater, isn't it! =D Anyhoo, enjoy the new parts of the site and Please!, leave me a message and let me know what you think about the changes. Arigato! ^_^

In other news, I recently came back from Project A-Kon, an anime convention in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. I had a ton of fun, spent lots of money, and met lots of cool people!! I picked up several commissions from great artists while I was there, you can check them out in the Guest Gallery.

Also, I've started a new monthly anime drawing site, in conjunction with Bolt. It's called the Monthly Original Bishojou. It's a monthly site for those that love those pretty anime girls, and have characters like them of their own. It's based off MAG (Monthly Anime Gaijin), where the winning artist gets to have their own character drawn. Check it out! Oh, and guess what?! One of my characters is going to be featured for the month of July! Don't miss it!!

 Whee! I won the MAG contest in February so Rilrae is the featured character for April!  You should meander over an check it out! And maybe you artist types might want to try a hand at drawing my character! Well, I dig the place because there's so much great artwork, and tons of really nice people.  Happy Birthday!! The Lair is now a year old! I had hoped to get the revamp done in time for this, but things just didn't go the way I planned. The more time I work on this revamp, the more complex it gets. I'm also in the progress of learning how to use Macromedia's Dreamweaver, hopefully it will make maintaining this site a whole lot easier. Even tho it's taking me forever, it only means the site  gets better and better. When I'm done, I'll have optimized it for 800X600 resolution, added a frames structure, some new pages including tutorials, as well as new fonts and site graphics. The overall look won't have changed too much, but everything else will be pretty different! ::sighs:: It'll get done, I've just had so many other things taking precedence right now.

In other news, I'm going to be published! I'm doing four black and white pin-ups, as well coloring one cover,  for a comic book mini series titled "Menagerie, the Anthology"; published by Radio Comix. This has taken up the most of my spare time of late, but so far I'm happy with the results. The book is due out sometime in Summer 2000, click the link above to get the whole low-down!

I've also uploaded the start of the AD&D page Tara and I have been working on. Titled "Realms to be Remembered," it will have all the relevant information on the AD&D game I'm in. If you want to know more about the characters here, or the game in general, check it out! Be warned tho, it's still under construction, and alot of the content is still on its way. As for the other characters from the Dark Saga game, hopefully there will be also be a site created in the future for it too! (that's not my project tho, thank gawd!)

Well, lots of stuff going on in my life right now. I've started school again of course, and I'm also in the middle of working weekends at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. I work as a volunteer at the fencing booth there, and took a few pictures while I was at it.  Sorry so long since the last update, things have been pretty crazy around here. I had major surgery at the end of June, and spent a lot of time recovering. I've also been working on another web site, a collaboration with Tara Robles, my friend and fellow gamer. We've been working to put together an informational site about the game we've been involved in for the past six years, one that some many of the characters in this site come from. It may take us a while to get it running, put if you want to see the under construction version, check out her link in my guestbook.
